Benefits of a Wedding Smile Makeover
If you’re unhappy with the appearance of your smile, a wedding smile makeover can help in many ways:
- Look great in pictures
- Feel comfortable and confident
- Be free to enjoy the day without worrying about cameras
- Help you make the best first impression on new family
- Enjoy all the foods available
- Eliminate tooth-related pain
- Benefits go far beyond the wedding
Of course, you’re concerned about the appearance of your smile. The pictures taken at weddings are those most often held and looked at in the future. For some people, it will be their only record of you, and you want it to be a good one.
But it’s not just about appearance. It’s about being able to enjoy the day. If you are unhappy with your smile, you’ll be constantly self-conscious, which can make it hard to smile. And if you’re not feeling free to smile, you’re not really enjoying yourself.
And we can’t neglect the function of your teeth. If your teeth aren’t in good shape, or if you have badly fitting dentures, you may not able to enjoy the foods available at the wedding. And you may experience tooth-related pain, which also makes it hard to enjoy the occasion.
Benefits can Last a Lifetime
Unlike many things you spend on for your wedding–food, drink, hair, dresses, and tuxes, for example–a wedding smile makeover is something that can benefit you for your lifetime. The results of your smile makeover can last for weeks, months, years, and even decades after the wedding.
In some cases, the benefits may last a lifetime.
Why Brides and Grooms Often Want a Smile Makeover
Getting married is considered your special day. It’s something you’ve looked forward to your entire life. And it’s the day when everyone focuses their attention on you. Really, it’s more than just a day–it’s an entire week of festivities as guests start to arrive, there are rehearsal events, fittings, and more. And at every event, your smile will be on display.
The traditional white wedding dress puts a high demand on your smile. It’s easy for your teeth to look discolored against the white of the dress, whether you’re the bride wearing the dress or the groom posing with her.
Timing Your Wedding Smile Makeover
Every smile makeover is customized, so it’s impossible to say when you should start your makeover until we know what are the right procedures for you.
However, the sooner you have your consultation, the more options you will have for getting your smile makeover. Here is a breakdown on the timing that might be required for different cosmetic treatments:
One Year or More: Orthodontic treatments require the movement of your teeth. Modern options can sometimes be done in less time, but if you want to be sure that you can straighten your teeth by the wedding day, it’s best to have a consultation at least a year before the wedding.
Six Months or More: Dental implants take time to fully integrate into your bone. If you want to make sure your replacement teeth are healthy and fully functional by the day of the wedding, schedule your consultation at least six months in advance.
Three Months or Less: Many cosmetic treatments can still be completed at this time. Porcelain veneers, upgrading fillings and crowns, and neuromuscular dentures can all be completed in about a month. Scheduling a consultation three months ahead gives us time to fit your procedure into our busy schedule.
One Month or Less: Teeth whitening can be completed within an hour, but we have to schedule time, so don’t wait any later than a month before the wedding day.
